Paper Airplane Adventures

It started with a smoothie

You're right, those are paper airplanes.

and ended with paper airplanes.

After studying for several hours and working on assignments, Kacie and I decided to take a study break and walk to our university's coffee shop to get a fruit smoothie. I have plenty of extra flex dollars on my meal plan, so I paid for it and grabbed the receipt. We sat down at a table and were chatting.

I almost always need to be doing something with my hands. Spinning a pen on my fingers, flipping through a book, tossing a ball up and down, something. That evening I had a piece of paper in my hands and folded it into a paper airplane. I got up the guts and threw it and it landed less than a foot away on the table. Kacie grabbed it and did the same thing and her's flew a couple yards.

One thing led to another and before long we were doing this:

This is the public front entrance of our school. Notice the white dot on the table closest to the camera? That's a prospective student informational packet that someone left behind (apparently they didn't want to come here that badly). It was filled with heavy weight paper....perfect for paper airplanes and a few of the sheets quickly turned into them. Before long we were flying airplanes in the concert hall (thankfully it was empty).

Great study break, but it was hard to go back to homework afterwards.

We thought about leaving the airplanes for someone else to play with, but in the end we figured it was better to throw them away.

  2. I looked over after the Easter service, saw http://l.qux.net/pOiWQvS on the pew next to me and thought of this post. I kinda wish they had thrown it before leaving just to see how people would react.
