This weekend Brian and I participated in a tradition of our school's called Nikdag, which is basically like a Sadie Hawkins event. After Brian said yes to my ask, we did a series of fun events.
The first was an evening boat ride down the Mississippi River. Before the boat ride we went to a fun little dive called the green room for some good burgers and malts. then we walked around town for a little while until it was time for the boat ride. On the boat there was games, pictures, an observation deck to take in the view, and on the bottom level of the boat there was swing dancing.

Now if you know Brian you'll know he is not the dancing type, but being the sweet soul that he is, he said he'd try it for me. Now I've danced for many years but swing dancing was not my thing..and to put it nicely, it wasn't Brian's thing either. After trying to dance for a while we ended giving up and just standing on the outside of the dance floor trying to pick out the couples who where having bad or awkward dates. Finally we moved up a deck and played scategories with a few friends which was filled with a lot of laughs.
Saturday night we went to a professional lacrosse game, we had very good seats, row 9 right behind the goalie. We got to see all the action, fist fights and all. We also discovered that professional lacrosse games are basically big dance parties! After the team scored a goal everyone got up from their seats and did a silly dance to an annoying song that will now be stuck in my head for at least 2 weeks!

After the game we got back on campus and Brian decided to be talked into climbing trees, which was not to my liking, I don't want a groom in a full body cast. Once Brian got talked down out of the tree, we wrapped the Niktag activities up with a few episodes of boy meets world and some crackers with Nutella. Overall it was a pretty stellar weekend!
