of your candy, but it's always fun.
Kacie and I decided to hide some eggs around her dad's house for the kids. We spent quite a bit of time finding good hiding spots that weren't too hard but would keep them busy for a while. We made two huge mistakes:
1. We hid the eggs before the kids arrived
This may not sound too bad, but we hid them in the living room.
| Natalie, probably enjoying some of the candy |
2. We hid one egg where the kids could see it as they were walking in.
We expected them to run around for a while and play with toys. We didn't realize they had a hidden candy radar that activated on entry and zeroed in on any candy anywhere.
When the first egg got found on their way in and one of the parents opened the egg to share the candy with the excited kids, it started a free for all. The three of them ran around searching desperately for the hidden eggs well before they'd eaten their lunch and it probably spoiled their appetites for at least part of the day.

It was still a blast! It was my first time on the adult side of the egg hunt and I almost enjoyed it more. When you're hiding the eggs, you have the bag of candy that you used to fill them.
| Grandpa: "Of course you can have candy!" |
I saw that subtle dig at your sister. (did I really steal your candy? What a horrible child I was. I am SO sorry....)
