April Fools!

Sunday morning at around 9:30 I got a text message. It's not really all that unusual, Kacie usually texts me around then because she knows I wake up for church. Normally it's, "good morning!" or "hope you slept well!" On April 1st it was more of a to do list (a one item to do list, but a to do list).

"Brian anna conda called me asking about something for the wedding can you call her back and see what
she wanted."

I was groggy, but the name sounded weird. Like something parents would do for their middle child that they (not so) secretly hate.

I sent a text back: "Anna conda? Like the snake? Are you serious?"

My assumption was that someone had pranked Kacie and that she was shoving the prank off on me. It didn't even occur to me that it was April 1st.

All Kacie had to say was, "Um ya." And I fell for it. I called the zoo like the next "born last night" guy.

The zoo's answering machine went off and I hung up. Hook line and sinker.

In my defense, my family doesn't really do pranks. To make an analogy, if there's a desert that stretches for miles and miles with a beautiful, fun oasis in the middle with clowns and balloons, my family's sense of humor is the desert.
