A Teacher and a Geek: Bridal Shower

Two weeks ago Brian and I traveled home to do some more wedding planning, spend some times with our families and for me to attend my bridal shower thrown for me by my fabulous aunts.
I was so blessed by all the woman who attended my shower. We all had a blast talking and laughing. It was a great time for me to catch up with some friends and family. I also got to see my beautiful bridesmaids, who I have not seen since Christmas.
We ate flat bread pizzas and many chocolatey desserts, it was a wonderful girl's day. I was also blessed with many gifts. My sister-in-law Jill gave me a very precious gift, a cookbook and recipe box filled with my mom’s recipes. She said she’s been saving them for me until I got married.
As a young bride it's sometimes very hard to do many of these wedding things by yourself without your mother but these women have done a marvelous job guiding me and teaching me to be the woman I am today. We all shared memories with each other about my mom, it was such a joyful time, and I knew my mom was smiling down from heaven.
