Spring Break: Day Three - Picnic Shenanigans!

Picnics are something Kacie and I have really enjoyed over the years. It's a frequent anniversary date for us. We're not terribly fancy people. We enjoy a nice restaurant every now and again, but we usually enjoy simple things, so spending an afternoon outside enjoying
the sun and each other's company is highly enjoyable.

Sometimes we make the food ourselves like for our third year anniversary. I made turkey sandwiches and Kacie brought cake pops and we ate enjoying the view at one of the local state parks. Other times we grab the food like the time we got sandwiches from our college cafeteria and went to a nearby lake to enjoy the afternoon sun.

This spring break has had the nicest weather all year and of any spring break I've ever had. Kacie had plans for the afternoon hanging out with a friend and (sadly) homework to do before then, but we took a minute to eat outside. We grabbed taco bell (one of my absolute favorite fast food restaurants), grabbed a blanket, and ate on the steps to Kacie's house. It was a blast!

If you have never tried, it is incredibly difficult to take pictures outside in the sun and wind (And South Dakota is exceptionally windy). The sun makes it difficult to see the screen, the wind makes your hair go crazy. As a male, I barely notice these things (I also barely notice when my hair looks like a hay bale or my goatee is longer than my finger).

Enjoying a crunch wrap!

The wind hit right as we tried to take this picture.
Didn't work out so well.

It also makes it difficult to eat. The wind blows the taco, the tomatoes can fly off and hit you in the face, sour cream and pop up and attack you without warning. But we did it! And it was well worth it!

As a minor side note, Kacie didn't think she looked very dignified in these pictures, so if this is the last blog post you ever see from me it's because I suffered grave retaliation for posting them on our blog.
