Engagment Picture Tips: How to pick the perfect clothes for your engagement pictures.

We've all seen those engagement pictures where the couple is dressed more like twins than a couple right? They're just awkward and no one really likes them. 

Awkward right?

Well then how come there's no handbook called “How to Dress for Engagement Pictures”
It's so hard picking out outfits that will photograph well and fits your style as well as look good with another person's clothing choices. Brian and I took out engagement pictures last Friday. Here are a few tips we learned from taking them:

1. Pick clothes that will fit your style, and the feel you want in your pictures. If you want casual pictures bring jeans, if not look for another option pick a cute dress or khakis, and a skirt.
2. Bring a variety of clothes for the photographer to look at, they're the professionals they know what will look best. Check with your photographer about how many outfit changes you'll have. We had three.
3. Bring fun shoes! Brian will let you know that I really love shoes, especially my Toms! Shoes are a fun way to add busts of color.
4. Bring things you'll be comfortable in. Same goes for your man. Brian hates wearing a tie, so we didn't put him in one.
5. Wear things that compliment each other. In one outfit I wore red shoes and Brian wore a red shirt.
6. Don't be afraid of patterns or colors, be careful in doing this it can really add but may also take away if you wear anything TOO LOUD!
7. Don't be afraid to explore. Our photographer put Brian in stripes and me in polka dots. Mixing and matching patterns is the thing right now.
8. Bring fun props that describe you and your relationship. Brian and I brought a quilt, books, a chess board and some other fun things.
