Love at....sixth? Seventh site?

Kacie and I encountered (Or should have encountered) each other numerous times throughout our lives before we actually became friends.

Kacie's family has a condo
at a lake in Iowa. My family took a vacation there for a Christian Conference one summer. Kacie's family is there every summer over the same weekend. I remember walking down the street in front of their condo with my family and uncle. Don't remember seeing her.

I went to the same school for elementary, middle, and high school. Kacie started there early elementary. We would have been playing on the same play ground for probably about three years. I was even friends with some of the people she remembers seeing and talking to. Don't remember seeing her until high school.

In elementary the sixth graders joined the eighth grade science class for a lesson in playing chess. I was an eighth grader, she was a sixth grader.

This one is potentially the strangest. When I was about six, my parents were looking at buying a treadmill. Kacie's father has been selling exercise equipment for years, and I remember going with them to look at different sets they were thinking about buying. I asked them once if they had looked at anything her dad was selling, and they said they had. I vaguely remember standing by a weight machine in a sales room while my parents were talking to the store owner and seeing a dark haired girl on the other side of a treadmill.

With all of these close encounters, it's astonishing to me we didn't actually meet before then. But it was a classic, storybook love at eighth or ninth site.
